Mia: Stephanie Ashley (Hero)

This is the actress who plays Mia. We decided to choose Steph as our actress as she is stereotypical female student, and really expresses her emotion in her eyes whilst acting. We have decided that her custom is going to be a long dark coat, light blue jeans and converse. We also plan to mess up her hair when filming as it conveys that she is very upset and angry. We decided that a female character will play a hero as it is very un-stereotypical, which can also be a USP. Although females have been the hero in other films in the market, she portrays a very upset and weak image unlike strong and confident female hero’s like Lara Croft.


Brett: Eugene Mcintyre (Damsel in Distress)

This is the actor who plays Brett. We decided to choose Eugene as our actor as again he is a very stereotypical student. We decided that we are going to dress him in a suit; this conveys the image of muscularity and authority. However this image is then disrupted as he is the one who gets kidnapped, whilst Mia tries to save him (Hero) which is a role-reversal.

Dean: Nick Jackman (Villain)

This is the actor who plays Dean. We decided to choose Nick as our actor as he looked like the stereotypical villain. We decided to keep the Villain conventional as we did not want to subvert too many conventions, as it may be unrecognisable to our target audience. We decided to dress him as a thug (grey hoody) and put him in a suit, which again conveys authority. In order to convey more authority than Brett we plan to film some of his shots at a low angle.
