Draft Promotional Poster
This is a draft version of the Reprisal poster which Hollie created using Photoshop; this was an experiment to enhance her Photoshop shills. She then had chosen one of the photo’s I had taken which was one with her hood up and with tears in her eyes, to put on the poster as the main image. She then cut the photo in a lightning bolt shape, making sure to include her eyes in the shot as it was the most significant part of the image as it conveyed lots of emotion. I think the lightning bolt was very appealing as it signifies anger which complements the name of the film. The background is black as it is a conventional colour used of Thriller film posters, and contrast the font and main image on the page. The text on the page is white very a simple font. The movie title is placed with larger font on the top of the page, to immediately draw the viewer’s attention. The slogan is placed at a rotated angle to disorientate the viewer, to gain catch the views attention and make it more appealing. The actor names are placed on the side of the light bolt to help the poster fit together, the font of each actors surname is in larger font as it is very conventional method used on many film posters. Overall I think it is a very good first attempt for the film poster as it conveys many conventions whilst looking quite professional. Our group plan to use this as a secondary poster available on the film magazine cover.
